To mark the International Day of Rural Women, the Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije presents the publication “Invisible Women of Montenegro”<\/strong>. This document, produced with the support of the U.S. Embassy, highlights the women essential to rural survival whose contributions often go unrecognized.<\/p>\n

Strength, Wisdom, and Entrepreneurial Spirit<\/h4>\n

The publication features ten authentic life stories illuminating daily life in Northern Montenegro\u2014from traditional housewives to highly educated women who traded city life for the countryside. These stories reveal the incredible strength of women who, despite infrastructural challenges, have improved their households through agriculture and rural tourism.<\/p>\n

Special emphasis is placed on women as drivers of agrotourism<\/strong>. Their skills in food production and dedication to authenticity make them the most vital link in the North’s tourism chain, promoting the very best of the Mountain Bounty<\/strong> brand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For these women, rural tourism is not just a supplement to income but a pathway for social inclusion. It is an opportunity for their labor to be valued, to encounter new cultures, and to proudly present the traditional heritage of their region. Their role in processing local products directly contributes to preserving the authentic identity of our mountains.<\/p>\n

The initiative also addresses critical issues regarding social and pension security<\/strong>, property ownership, and the need for systemic solutions to ensure rural women a dignified life and equal status in society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A Bridge Between Invisible Labor and Earned Recognition<\/h4>\n

The goal is to make these women visible through concrete support measures in national strategies, ensuring that their invaluable contribution to the development of the rural North receives proper valorization and institutional protection.<\/p>\n
