Economic empowerment of women

Regional Development Agency (RDA) has been selected to assist UNDP in project implementation  related to economic empowerment of women in Kolasin and Mojkovac municipalities.  It’s a part of a larger Gender Programme, implemented by UNDP Montenegro, Ministry for Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro, Municipality of Cetinje, Kolasin and Mojkovac and funded by Delegation of EU in Montenegro.  There are two main goals of project:

  • support enthusiastic and motivated women who would like to establish their own business or to enhance already established business,
  • support local governments to improve their knowledge related to providing support to female entrepreneurs and measures for stimulating development of female entrepreneurship in their respective municipalities.

RDA believes that huge women entrepreneurial potential in Montenegro is not used sufficiently, and this project will help in this regrad. This project will involve capacity building activities, adjusted to the needs of female entrepreneurs and local governments, while RDA will match these activities with a small fund which will be used to ensure that best business ideas are assisted financially. Engagement of the RDA in this project will last until December 2013.
