Empowerment of Women
A key role in community preservation and development
Women in rural and mountain areas play a key role in preserving communities, knowledge, and daily life, yet their contribution often remains insufficiently visible and recognized. Our work is guided by the conviction that without the empowerment of women, there can be no long-term and sustainable development of mountain communities.
Visibility and Access to Opportunities
In many households, women are the primary keepers of knowledge regarding agriculture, food processing, traditional skills, family care, and the preservation of local culture. Despite this, they often face limited access to information, markets, and opportunities for additional income. Through our work, we strive to reduce these barriers and create space for greater participation of women in the local economy.
We work with women involved in agriculture, rural tourism, crafts, and small family businesses, providing support through mentorship, education, and the exchange of experiences. We pay special attention to developing practical skills, strengthening self-confidence, and building support networks among women from different communities.
For us, the empowerment of women is not just an economic issue. It also involves strengthening their role in decision-making, recognizing their knowledge as a valuable resource, and creating conditions in which they can actively shape the development of their communities.
Long-term Stability and Resilience
Such an approach contributes to greater social cohesion, the transfer of knowledge to younger generations, and the resilience of local economies. We believe that investing in women yields multiple benefits – not only for individuals and families but for entire communities.
By connecting women’s knowledge with local resources, cultural heritage, and sustainable economic activities, we lay the foundations for development that is inclusive, fair, and sustainable in the long run.
