General Objective: Increase competitiveness of the tourism sector through economic valorization of cultural and natural heritage.
Specific Objective: Preserve traditional architecture as a significant part of the cultural heritage of the cross-border area.
Expected Results:
- Result 1: Conservation and sustainable use of cultural heritage in tourism.
- Development of a study on traditional architectural types in the region.
- Creation of modern designs based on traditional architecture.
- Recommendations for improvements to existing buildings.
- Organization of a working camp with rural households engaged in rural tourism on traditional interior design.
- Result 2: Improved access to local culture and communities for tourism purposes.
- Cultural landscaping activities in 4 communities.
- Adaptation of 6 traditional buildings (water mills and wells).
- Establishment of ethnographic rooms in two villages engaged in tourism.
- Development of cultural routes and accompanying promotional material.
- Result 3: Enhanced knowledge and awareness of cultural heritage in the cross-border area.
- Organization of exhibitions of traditional architectural styles in modern buildings in at least 6 towns in the cross-border area.
- Preparation of a series of articles in targeted magazines on traditional elements of modern architecture and the importance of cultural heritage preservation.
- Development of promotional and educational materials for local communities.
