Montenegro a part of Danube Culinary Trail

Surely you remember the Mountain Bounty, a collection of recipes from the mountain cuisine of Montenegro, which received an international award? And now we are part of a new project, called the Culinary trail, which is implemented through the Interreg Danube Programme, and is financed by the EU. This new project aims to highlight and promote ethnic and local culinary heritage in the Danube region. The project targets geographically remote and underdeveloped communities, offering significant economic opportunities for rural areas, using culinary heritage to revitalize tourism.

Our organization is one of the partners in this large project, which brings together partners from all countries of the Danube region. What we did through the Mountain Bounty activities will now be used as the basis for a new project that will enable our mountain dishes, dishes that our women have passed down from generation to generation and preserved until today, to be found on the great European route of culinary heritage. With that, our rural households will become part of the great European story, a tourist offer about which information will be available to millions of European citizens.
