Surely you remember Mountain Bounty, the collection of recipes from Montenegro’s highland cuisine that received international acclaim? We are now proud to be part of a new project called the Culinary Trail, implemented through the Interreg Danube Programme and financed by the EU.
Revitalizing Rural Areas Through Heritage
The Culinary Trail project aims to highlight and promote ethnic and local culinary heritage across the Danube region. It specifically targets geographically remote and underdeveloped communities, offering significant economic opportunities for rural areas by using culinary heritage to revitalize tourism.
The work we achieved through Mountain Bounty will now serve as the foundation for this new initiative. Our traditional mountain dishes, preserved by our women for generations, will be featured on the great European route of culinary heritage, making our rural households part of a major international story.
The Danube Region at Your Fingertips
Our organization is one of the key partners in this extensive project, which brings together institutions from all countries in the Danube region. Through this collaboration, information about our traditional cuisine and rural households will be accessible to millions of European citizens, opening doors to new tourism opportunities.
This is an opportunity for our tradition to become a recognizable European brand, ensuring our hosts gain their well-deserved place within the authentic tourism offer of the Danube basin.
