Donor Contribution€1,809,610.00
Implementation Period01.01.2017 – 01.06.2019

Project Overview

The primary goal of the InnoHPC project is to enhance the innovative capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by expanding their knowledge and access to High Performance Computing (HPC). While these technologies are a standard in developed European countries, they often remain distant and costly for businesses in Montenegro and the surrounding region. The project seeks to bridge this technological divide.

Main Objectives:

  • Positioning HPC as a general-purpose technology to boost innovation, particularly in the automotive and electronics sectors.
  • Developing the tools and skills necessary for the effective integration of HPC into industrial innovation processes.
  • Fostering transnational cooperation across the Danube Region by connecting SMEs, research institutes, and development agencies.

Key Results

1. The InnoHPC Lab and Networking
The project established the InnoHPC Lab, a platform connecting SMEs with HPC providers and support institutions. This enables the formation of cross-border industrial value chains and optimizes the use of existing regional infrastructure, eliminating the need for redundant and costly hardware investments.

2. Bridging Science and Industry
By raising awareness of HPC’s potential to solve complex business problems, the project effectively narrowed the gap between research institutes and the private sector. This synergy ensures that scientific expertise is translated into practical business advantages and increased competitiveness.

3. Capacity Building and Skill Development
Specialized programs were developed to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of academic institutions acting as service providers. Simultaneously, SMEs were empowered to understand and explore the competitive advantages HPC offers within the automotive and electronics industries.
