About the Project
The DanubeCrafts project aims at the preservation, promotion, and sustainable development of traditional crafts in the Danube region through their integration into contemporary tourism flows. The project involves 18 project partners and 13 associated partners from various sectors, including development agencies, research institutions, and NGOs.
The project contributes to:
- Preservation of cultural heritage and identity.
- Development of sustainable tourism and strengthening of local economies.
- Connecting regions through a joint transnational offer.
- Creating opportunities for rural and less developed areas.
Project Objective
The main objective is to develop a common approach for the valorization of traditional crafts and their connection with tourism through the development of strategies, action plans, and innovative tools for promotion and sustainability.
Project Activities
- Analysis and Strategic Planning: Analysis of the current state and development of a joint strategy for the Danube region.
- Development of Innovative Solutions: Establishment of craft centers and development of training methodologies.
- Development of the Traditional Crafts Route: Identification of attractions and creation of thematic itineraries.
- Digitalization and Promotion: Development of digital platforms and communication activities.
- Certification and Sustainability: Development of route certification principles and capacity building.
