The TT5 route takes you through some of the most beautiful landscapes of Montenegro – from Cetinje and Rijeka Crnojevića, across Lake Skadar and Crmnica, all the way to Ulcinj and Ada Bojana. The journey is not easy, but with good planning and a positive spirit it offers an unforgettable experience of nature, history, and local traditions.
Stage 1: Cetinje – Rijeka Crnojevića – Virpazar
Starting from Cetinje, the old road descends towards Rijeka Crnojevića. Along the way you pass the Belvedere restaurant, famous for “King Nikola’s pancakes.” Rijeka Crnojevića is a small town rich in history and romantic scenery. The route continues to Virpazar, a charming village on Lake Skadar, known for its local wine Vranac and the endemic fish ukljeva.
Lake Skadar is the largest lake in the Balkans, home to rare birds and fish, and protected as a national park. Here, nature and tradition create a unique experience.
Stage 2: Virpazar – Ostros – Ulcinj – Ada Bojana
The road follows the shoreline of Lake Skadar, with steep climbs and breathtaking viewpoints. Arriving in Ulcinj reveals a town with a rich history, once a pirate stronghold. The stage ends at Ada Bojana, famous for its long sandy beach and relaxed atmosphere.
Ada Bojana is a symbol of freedom and leisure – a place of parties, windsurfing, and a bohemian spirit.
Stage 3: Ulcinj – Stari Bar – Rumija – Virpazar
From Ulcinj the route heads towards Stari Bar, along quiet roads and mountain paths. Stari Bar is a historic site with fortress ruins. The climb over Mount Rumija offers spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea and Lake Skadar. The journey concludes with a return to Virpazar.
