The mountain hut in Suvodo, at Bjelasica mountain was build several decades ago for the use of the forestry industry. The Austrian-Montenegrin Partnership supported its renovation in 2009 and transformed it into a mountaineer’s lodge. Due to economic difficulties, however, the renovation was not completed in time.
In 2011, RDA BKP coordinated the USAID funded project of final renovation and furnishing of the lodge, with the support of the municipality of Berane as the applicant on the project. The mountaineer’s lodge was opened in the summer of the same year and it is now offering very affordable accommodation and local cuisine for the mountaineers that enjoy hiking on beautiful Bjelasica mountain.
