Implementation Period: 01 February 2019 – 01 February 2021, extended until 01 June 2021

General Objective: Increase the scope, quality, and visibility of tourism.

Specific Objective: Strengthen the cross-border Prokletije area as an outdoor destination. Both objectives will be achieved through coordinated results and a set of activities dedicated to these results:

Result 1: Improved outdoor tourism infrastructure

  • Develop a network of at least 300 km of hiking and cycling trails connecting Kosovo and Montenegro, offering multiple options for visitors.
  • Establish at least two thematic trails linking Kosovo and Montenegro.
  • Equip one rock-climbing site with 20 new climbing routes.
  • Provide rest areas, viewpoints, and signage for water sources throughout the border area.
  • Install bicycle parking facilities.

Result 2: Standardized cross-border information available to tourists and agencies

  • Present the complete outdoor offer of the area to visitors through GPS trek logs, electronic and printed maps.
  • Install around 50 information boards with maps.
  • Develop a mobile application for Android and iOS, as well as a web portal showcasing the entire cross-border offer, facilitating access to information for tourism agencies on both sides of the border.

Result 3: Promotional activities to increase visibility of the target area as an outdoor destination

  • Install at least 6 billboards at entrances to the Prokletije area.
  • Print 5,000 leaflets presenting the entire area as one destination.
  • Produce a promotional video.
  • Organize 2 outdoor festivals.
