Project Overview
The project is designed to connect the valuable cultural, agricultural, and natural heritage of mountain katuns with the modern outdoor tourism market. By developing thematic trails and integrating farmers into the hospitality sector, the project aims to valorize the unique transhumance traditions of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Main Objectives:
- Improving the quality and diversification of the tourism offer based on natural and cultural heritage.
- Valorization of less developed areas through the development of sustainable rural tourism.
- Establishing the “Katun Trails” as a recognizable cross-border tourism product.
Expected Results
- Increased Tourist Inflow: A significant rise in the number of visitors exploring rural areas and protected zones through newly established trails.
- Enhanced Regional Image: Strengthening the perception of the cross-border region as a tourist-attractive, multi-ethnic, and culturally diverse destination.
- Economic Integration: Empowering katun farmers to become active participants in the tourism industry, providing them with new income opportunities.
