Project Overview

The USAID Economic Development Project was a strategic initiative aimed at unlocking the economic potential of Northern Montenegro. Following a public call, the Regional Development Agency (RDA) for Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije was selected as the key local implementation partner for the northeastern region of the country.

Main Objectives:

  • Identifying and supporting high-potential applicants from both the business and public sectors.
  • Providing expert technical assistance in transforming concepts into viable project proposals.
  • Strengthening key regional sectors, including agriculture, tourism, and the general business environment.

Key Results and RDA Role

1. Project Identification and Design
RDA BKP played a crucial role in identifying potential applicants and guiding them through the development of project ideas. These proposals were then strategically presented to the EDP for funding, ensuring a targeted flow of investment into local communities.

2. Diverse Stakeholder Engagement
The agency provided comprehensive support to a wide array of stakeholders, including state institutions, local businesses, individual farmers, NGOs, and sports associations. This multi-sectoral approach focused on capacity building and fostering a more robust economic landscape.

3. Regional Implementation Oversight
Responsible for project activities across seven municipalities, RDA BKP ensured the successful execution of diverse initiatives. By bridging the gap between local needs and international funding, the agency effectively enhanced the regional capacity for long-term economic growth.
