Free Climbing: Adrenaline on the Cliffs

Free climbing is still developing in Montenegro, but climbers worldwide already know about our equipped climbing sites. Locations in Podgorica, Nikšić, Kotor, Kolašin, Gusinje, Mojkovac, and Berane offer more than 90 new climbing routes.

Kolašin – Biočinovići

The climbing site has three sectors, 10–30m high, with 30 established routes and 31 new ones. Suitable for beginners and advanced climbers, it is perfectly surrounded by forests and springs (Coordinates: 42°50’13.18″ N, 19°34’2.31″ E).

Accommodation & Gastro: Visitors can choose between hotels and private apartments in Kolašin. After a day on the rocks, enjoy local specialties such as kačamak and layered cheese.

Mojkovac – Dobrilovina

Located near Đurova cave, where the first school in the Tara basin was opened in 1870. The site has 35 routes, mostly for intermediate and advanced climbers, with excellent rock quality (Coordinates: 43°1’41.36″ N, 19°23’40.18″ E).

Where to Stay: Options range from riverside camps by the Tara to small hotels in Mojkovac, or luxury stays in Žabljak and Kolašin.

Berane – Sjelača

A beautiful site with two sectors of different difficulty, offering around 30 routes. The smaller rock is ideal for beginners, while the larger one caters to experienced climbers (Coordinates: 42°50’0.81″ N, 19°49’27.97″ E).

Local Experience: Stay in authentic village houses in Lubnice, the hotel in Jelovica, or Berane hotels. Don’t miss out on local honey, brandy, and cheese.
