The Municipality of Berane, in partnership with the RDA BKP, is implementing the project “Local Partnership Initiative for Employment – ILEP”. This initiative is supported by the European Union through the IPA program, focusing on reducing unemployment and boosting the local economy [00:13].
New Tourist Guides for Berane Region
[00:21] While Berane offers an authentic rural tourism experience, a lack of licensed guides has been a barrier for travel agencies. To overcome this, the ILEP project organized training for 10 unemployed individuals to become licensed tourist guides [00:41].
Vocational Training in the Wood Processing Sector
In addition to tourism, the “Arhimed” Educational Center is conducting a vocational program for furniture carpenters, involving 15 participants [01:12]. A key element is the practical part of the training, which is held directly in the workshops of local manufacturers [01:32].
Student Feedback
Participants such as Kenan Šuntić and Sofija highlighted the high quality of the teaching and the expertise of the professors. Following the theoretical phase, a study tour through Northern Montenegro was organized, allowing future guides to successfully test their skills in real-world scenarios [01:41].
Community Sustainability
The project is being implemented from October 2023 to October 2024 [02:57]. Through ILEP, the local community gains skilled professionals, strengthening Berane’s position in both the rural tourism and wood processing industries.
