Rural Tourism Along Via Dinarica: Traditional Interior Design for an Authentic Experience

Within the project “Rural Tourism along Via Dinarica”, funded by the European Union through the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) program, the Regional Development Agency and the Association of Rural Households of Montenegro are implementing activities to improve the quality of accommodation in rural areas. A special focus has been placed on interior design, aiming to provide visitors with a unique and aesthetically complete experience of Montenegrin village life.

Creative Work

For the creative part of the work, the association Kreativa was engaged, with members working on unique details that emphasize the warmth of wood, stone, and traditional fabrics. A great example of this collaboration is the household of Dragan Šain in Polje Crkvičko (Plužine). The interventions focused on highlighting the architectural values of the building, such as old wooden windows and ceilings, complemented by handmade decorative elements. The final result is a space that radiates tradition while providing all the necessary comfort to the modern traveler along Via Dinarica.

Rural tourism thrives when tradition is preserved and presented as a living experience for visitors.
