The TT3 route stretches for about 300 kilometers and takes cyclists through Eastern Montenegro – from Mojkovac and Bjelasica, across Komovi, Plav and Gusinje, to Hajla and Rožaje, ending in Berane. It is a journey through a kingdom of mountains, lakes, rivers, and traditional villages, where landscapes change dramatically at every turn.
Mojkovac – Biogradska Gora – Bjelasica
The journey begins in Mojkovac, heading into Biogradska Gora National Park. The climb to Biogradsko Lake and further to the peaks of Bjelasica reveals one of the last primeval forests in Europe. Scenic viewpoints, winding serpentines, and the scent of beech trees accompany cyclists up to Zekova glava and Pešića Lake, offering unforgettable panoramas.
Pešića Lake and Šiško Lake are jewels of Bjelasica – places where the mountain reflects in the water and silence reigns supreme.
Komovi – Kuti – Gusinje – Plav
Descending from Bjelasica leads to Trešnjevik and Komovi, then through the valley of Perućica to the village of Kuti. A demanding climb follows along the border with Albania, crossing into Gusinje. The Grebaje valley and Alipaša springs are must-see stops, while Plav with its lake and Hridsko Lake offers the highest altitudes and most stunning scenery. This section of the route combines cultural heritage with breathtaking natural wonders.
Hridsko Lake, hidden in the forest at 2130 masl, is considered by many the most beautiful in Montenegro. The path is challenging, but the reward is unforgettable – a serene mirror of water surrounded by peaks and legends.
Hajla – Rožaje – Berane
After Plav, the route continues across Mokra Planina and Usovište towards Hajla and Rožaje. The descent into the valley of the Ibar River brings cyclists to its source, a symbolic point connecting Montenegro with Serbia. The final stage leads across Turjak and Trpezi to Berane, closing the great circle through Eastern Montenegro. Along the way, riders encounter forests, pastures, and villages rich in tradition and hospitality.
Conclusion
TT3 combines primeval forests, alpine lakes, mountain ridges, and traditional villages. The journey offers the feeling of discovering Montenegro in all its diversity – from peaceful valleys to the rugged peaks of Prokletije. It is an adventure that leaves lasting memories and reveals the authentic spirit of the country.
