Project Overview
The goal of this project was to strengthen cross-border cooperation and establish an integrated approach to the development of summer mountain tourism. By focusing on the sustainable use of natural resources, the initiative aimed to make mountain destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro attractive to visitors throughout the entire year.
Main Objectives:
- Diversification of the tourism offer through the creation of new regional products.
- Enhancement of tourism infrastructure for off-season activities.
- Strengthening the capacities of local service providers and regional development agencies.
Key Results
1. Development of Niche Tourism Products
The project established three local cycling routes and four hiking trails. A specialized speleological cadastre was created for four municipalities, and three free-climbing sites were selected and fully equipped to ensure safe and professional use.
2. Infrastructure and Household Support
Six rural households received direct support to enhance their rural tourism services. The Mojkovac Tourism Organization was equipped with mountain bikes and kayaks, while two new playgrounds were built in villages designated for agro-tourism to improve the offer for families.
3. Training and Networking
Specialized training was provided to 15 representatives of rural households, focusing on product creation and hospitality in the rural sector. A cross-border network of tourism actors was established, and the operational capacities of both Regional Development Agencies (RRAs) were significantly strengthened.
4. Regional Promotion
A new dedicated website was launched to promote regional tourism products and services. A comprehensive set of promotional flyers was produced, covering key activities including cycling, hiking, climbing, speleology, and agro-tourism.
