The Municipality of Berane, nestled in the Lim valley and surrounded by the magnificent Bjelasica, Cmiljevica, and Turjak massifs, is a premier destination for mountain biking. Our trail network connects the urban center with pristine mountain peaks, offering a route for every fitness level.
BA01: Budimlja – Banjevac
Ideal for recreational riders and families, this trail passes through gentle rural landscapes and provides insight into the traditional way of life in Berane’s villages. The terrain is mostly flat with mild slopes, perfect for discovering local agriculture and hospitality.
BA02: Berane – Šiško Lake – Pešića Lake
One of the most beautiful mountain tours, leading you to the heart of Bjelasica and Biogradska Gora National Park. The route passes two stunning glacial lakes and offers spectacular views from Zekova Glava (2122 masl). This is a demanding MTB tour that rewards you with unique landscapes.
BA03: Berane – Jelovica connects the city with the popular excursion site. It is perfect for riding through dense forests with a gradual ascent, where numerous mountain springs and the shade of beech forests provide a refreshing break.
BA04: Berane – Cmiljevica (Circular Route)
A challenging route exploring Mount Cmiljevica, known for its pine forests and vast plateaus. The trail offers an authentic off-road experience with viewpoints overlooking Rožaje and the entire Berane valley.
BA05: Sedlo – Padež (Katun Route)
This thematic trail leads through the active mountain settlements of Sedlo and Padež. It is perfect for those wishing to combine sports with gastronomy, with opportunities to taste homemade cheese and cream directly from mountain hosts.
All trails are marked with standardized tourist signage. Information boards with maps and elevation profiles can be found in the city center, while GPS data is available for online download.
