Project Overview
The primary goal of this intervention is to improve food quality standards and enhance the competitiveness of the food production sector. By linking small producers with the tourism industry, the project promotes authentic regional quality and sustainable market growth.
Key Activities:
- Market Promotion: Development and marketing support for product quality, including the “Mountain Feast” and “Sea Feast” initiatives.
- Knowledge Transfer: International exchange of practices between Western Balkan and Caucasus countries.
- Strategic Routes: Development of the “Gastro Route” and implementation of internal quality controls.
- Resilience: Technical support and capacity building, including a specialized COVID Package for sector recovery.
Sub-component 1.5: Short Food Supply Chains
Objective: To enable small-scale producers to access new markets and increase their competitiveness through knowledge exchange.
- Development of a local digital food network and a specialized knowledge-sharing platform.
- Technical support to strengthen the market position of small producers in preparation for tourism reactivation.
Sub-component 2.5: Strategic Analysis
Objective: To analyze the development and current state of short food supply chains to better respond to emerging market challenges.
- Conducting comprehensive field research.
- Publication of a formal study on the establishment and evolution of food supply chains in the region.
Expected Impact
Through these activities, the project ensures that local food production becomes a key pillar of the tourism offer, providing small producers with the tools needed for long-term sustainability and market adaptability.
