The Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije, together with its partners, implemented a project for the economic empowerment of women in Kolašin and Mojkovac, funded by UNDP Montenegro.
A core component of the project involved providing essential training for successful business management, covering communication skills, entrepreneurship, marketing, business plan development, and Montenegrin legal and tax regulations.
Investing in Success: As a special contribution, RDA BKP allocated €20,000 from Austrian Development Agency (ADA) funds for non-reimbursable grants. The highest-quality business ideas were awarded grants ranging from €500 to €2,000, primarily for purchasing equipment to boost production and service quality in agriculture, rural tourism, and handicrafts.
Sustainability and Outcomes
Through a dedicated mentorship process, RDA BKP monitored the realization of these grants into successful, small sustainable businesses. The project demonstrated that even modest funds, when placed in the right hands, can yield significant results in job creation and economic growth.
