“Rural Tourism for Mountain Destinations” Project Results Presented in Žabljak

The regional conference held in Žabljak was an opportunity to summarize the achievements of the project connecting Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, aimed at strengthening rural areas.


Presented Results

Ivan Mališić (RDA BKP) and Maja Lukić–Grabovac presented concrete steps taken in the field, while speakers from different sectors analyzed challenges and opportunities for rural households.

The conference highlighted that synergy between institutions and local producers is essential for sustainable tourism in the mountain ranges of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Event Participants

The event gathered a wide range of partners, including representatives of the Ministry of European Affairs, the National Tourism Organization, Durmitor National Park, and the Mountaineering Association.

A special contribution to the discussion came from examples of good practice from the private and NGO sectors, confirming the importance of joint action for the development of rural areas.
