World Recognition for Montenegrin Tradition: “Mountain Bounty” Awarded in Paris

The Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije has achieved historic success on the global stage. The “Mountain Bounty” publication has been named the best in the gastro-tourism category at the prestigious “Gourmand World Cookbook Awards” in Paris, confirming the culinary heritage of Northern Montenegro as a world-class resource.

A Culinary “Oscar” for the North

This award, considered the “Oscar” of the cookbook publishing world, proves that traditional recipes from our mountain regions hold universal value. The Paris jury highlighted that “Mountain Bounty” is not merely a traditional cookbook, but a profound look into the culture, customs, and resilience of local communities, presenting food as a living link between the past and the future.

RDA Director, Jelena Krivčević, emphasizes that this recognition belongs to the women of the North who selflessly preserve the authenticity of the Montenegrin table through their work in mountain katuns and rural households.

This recognition has opened doors to a new kind of promotion for Montenegro, attracting the attention of world-class chefs and prestigious media crews. Traditional dishes like kačamak, cheese, skorup, and buckwheat pies are now part of a globally recognized cultural heritage, positioning our region as an essential gastro-tourism destination.

The mission to brand the North continues through support for small producers, proving that the most valuable resources are found within our tradition and hospitality.

A Bridge Between Tradition and Global Recognition

The success in Paris is the crown of years of work on valorizing mountain areas, ensuring that the authentic identity of Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije becomes synonymous with premium quality on the world tourism map.
