In Podgorica last weekend, the results of 18 months of work on improving and standardizing traditional products from northern Montenegro were successfully presented. The Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije organized a two-day program that began with a large fair at Delta City shopping center and culminated with a themed dinner at Forest restaurant.
Fair in Podgorica
At the fair held on Friday, February 14, 40 small family farms presented 75 new, registered and laboratory-tested products. This marked a significant step forward, as these traditional products are now fully aligned with legal standards, removing the main barrier to their sale in hotels and restaurants across the country. The event was enriched with surprises for Valentine’s Day.
Traditional products from northern Montenegro are now aligned with legal standards – opening the door to hotels and restaurants nationwide.
Themed Dinner
Following the fair, on Saturday, February 15, the Forest restaurant hosted a themed evening “Mountain Bounty”. Guests enjoyed mountain dishes prepared with ingredients from family farms, accompanied by entertainment from Nenad Gladić – Lepi Brka, author of the show “Gastro Nomad”. Every visitor who ordered from the mountain menu received a cookbook of traditional dishes with stories about their origins.
