Year-round tourism in mountain destinations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro

The Regional Development Agency for Bjelasica, Komovi, and Prokletije, in partnership with the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency (SERDA) and LTO Mojkovac, is implementing a project to transform mountain centers into year-round attractions.

The project focuses on developing summer offerings in the municipalities of Berane, Bijelo Polje, Mojkovac, and Kolašin, as well as the Sarajevo region, to reduce seasonal dependency. With a total value of €437,000, this initiative aims to economically empower local communities through sustainable tourism.

Key Project Activities:

  • Active Tourism Infrastructure: Marking and equipping new hiking and cycling trails.
  • Adventure Content: Identifying rock climbing locations and creating a speleological cadastre for cave valorization.
  • Rural Household Improvement: Support for rural accommodation providers to enhance service quality and authenticity.
  • Education and Networking: Professional assistance to the tourism industry and cross-border exchange of best practices.
